An adaptive filter is a digital filter that can adjust its coefficients to give the best match t An adaptive filter is a digital filter that can adjust its coefficients to give the best match to a given desired signal. When an adaptive filter operates in a changeable environment the filter coefficients can adapt in response to changes in the applied input signals. Adaptive filters depend on recursive algorithms to update their coefficients and train them to near the optimum solution. An everyday example of adaptive filters is in the telephone system where, impedance mismatches causing echoes of a signal are a significant source of annoyance to the users of the system. The adaptive signal process is here to estimate and generate the echo path and compensate for it. To do this the echo path is viewed as an unknown system with some impulse response and the adaptive filter must mimic this response. Adaptive Filters are generally implemented in the time domain which works well in most scenarios however in many applications the impulse response become long, and increasing the complexity of the filter beyond a level where it can no longer be implemented efficiently in the time domain. An example of acoustic echo cancellation applications is in hands free telephony system. However there exists an alternative solution and that is to implement the filters in the frequency domain. The Discrete Fourier Transform or Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) allows the conversion of signals from the time domain to the frequency domain in an efficient manner. Despite the efficiency of the FFT the overhead involved in converting the signals to the frequency domain does place a restriction on the use of the algorithm. When the impulse response of the unknown system and hence the impulse response of the filter is long enough however this is not an issue since the computational cost of the conversion is much less than that of the time domain algorithm. The actual filtering of the signals requires little computational cost in the frequency domain. Investigation of the so-called crossover point, the point where the frequency domain implementation becomes more efficient than the time domain implementation is important to establish the point where frequency domain implementation becomes practica

Managing IT Operations in a Cloud-driven Enterprise: Case Studies

Enterprise IT needs a new approach to manage processes, applications and infrastructure which are distributed across a mix of environments. In an Enterprise traditionally a request to deliver an application to business could take weeks or months due to decision-making functions, multiple approval bodies and processes that exist within IT departments. These delays in delivering a requested service can lead to dissatisfaction, with the result that the line-of-business group may seek alternative sources of IT capabilities. Also the complex IT infrastructure of these enterprises cannot keep up with the demand of new applications and services from an increasingly dispersed and mobile workforce which results in slower rollout of critical applications and services, limited resources, poor operation visibility and control. In such scenarios, it’s better to adopt cloud services to substitute for new application deployment otherwise most Enterprise IT organizations face the risk of losing 'market share' to the Public Cloud. Using Cloud Model the organizations should increase ROI, lower TCO and operate with seamless IT operations. It also helps to beat shadow IT and the practice of resource over-or under provisioning. In this research paper we have given two case studies where we migrated two Enterprise IT application to public clouds for the purpose of lower TCO and higher ROI. By migrating, the IT organizations improved IT agility, enterprise-class software for performance, security and control. In this paper, we also focus on the advantages and challenges while adopting cloud services

Designing and Fabrication of Automatic Cutting Machine

The project undertaken by us is about the design and fabrication of a machine known as the motor driven cutting machine for food items. This machine was made with the intention of helping the fish sellers or also making household task easier. This machine mainly comprises of two mechanism, i.e Crank- Rocker mechanism and the Scott-Rusell mechanism clubbed together. A motor input was provided to drive the crank. The Scott Rusell then came into the picture and it led to the desired blade movement which led to the subsequent cutting of the food items. This project was actually designed to benefit the fish sellers by increasing their productivity. There, it takes a long time to cut fishes .So this mechanism would prove to be both handy as well as affordable for the fish sellers to cut the fish quickly and properly. Since the machine was fabricated in wood,it was light weight and portabl
